UAN Activation Process (PF ఖాతాను ఆక్టివేట్ చేయడం ఎలా?)
To check your PF balance or withdraw money, your UAN (Universal Account Number) must be Active. If you are a new employee, you need to do this one-time registration to create your password.

Why Activate? (The 8.25% Benefit)
Activating UAN unlocks your ability to check if your employer is depositing money. Your PF grows at 8.25% interest (Tax-Free), which is higher than any Bank FD.
Common Error: "Details Not Matching"
Most people fail at activation because of this.
- ⚠️ The Issue: Your Name, Date of Birth (DOB), or Gender in the company records does not match your Aadhaar card.
- ✅ The Solution: If you see this error, you cannot activate it yourself. You must contact your HR/Employer to update your details in the EPFO portal first.

You can find it on the same portal:
1. Go to Unified Member Portal.
2. Click "Know your UAN".
3. Enter Mobile No -> Request OTP.
4. Enter Name + DOB + Aadhaar.
5. Your UAN will be sent via SMS.

Go to Website
Visit EPFO Member Interface.
Look for the "Important Links" section on the right side. -

Click Activate
Click on the link that says "Activate UAN".
2 Step 2: Enter Details & Verify
Enter your UAN, Aadhaar (Member ID is not needed if you have UAN), Name, Date of Birth, and Mobile Number.
Note: Details must match your Aadhaar card exactly.
Tick the box "I hereby consent to provide my Aadhaar...". Click "Get Authorization Pin".
You will receive an OTP on your Aadhaar-linked mobile. Enter it and click "Validate OTP and Activate UAN".
🔐 Step 3: Password Generation
Success! Your UAN is activated.
- The default password has been sent to your mobile number via SMS.
- Use this to login for the first time.
- Pro Tip: Immediately after logging in, go to Account > Change Password and set your own password.
Password Rules:
- ✓ Minimum 7 characters, Maximum 20.
- ✓ At least 1 Capital Letter (A-Z).
- ✓ At least 1 Small Letter (a-z).
- ✓ At least 1 Special Character (@, #, $, etc).
- ✓ At least 1 Number (0-9).

Frequently Asked Questions
I activated it, but I can't login. Why?
After activation, it takes about 6 hours for the system to sync your new password. Please wait and try logging in after 6 hours.
How to change mobile number in UAN?
If you cannot login, you cannot change it easily. You must first update your mobile number in your Aadhaar Card. Once Aadhaar is updated, try activating UAN again with the new number.
